Individuals can invest money in up to two different components (Cash and Stocks & Shares) for each Maxi ISA.

A Maxi ISA must have a stocks & shares component, but the Cash component is optional. A maximum of £7,000 can be invested each financial year. This can be divided between the two components in whichever way an individual wishes.

CASH – up to £3,000 (optional)

Examples:

Mr I Nvestor has £7,000 he wishes to invest in a Maxi ISA. He decides to split his investment as follows £6,000 in Stocks & Shares and the remaining £1,000 as Cash.

Mrs I Nvestor on the other hand is wishes to take less of a risk withher savings and only puts £4,000 in Stocks & Shares and the maximum £3,000 as Cash ISA.
